The history behind Lanson Champagne

Champagne Lanson is headquartered in the Reims region of France. In the early days of 1798, Nicholas-Louis named it Lanson et Cie and started exporting champagne internationally.  Lanson was founded in 1760, and as of 1980, was bought out by Gardinier Group. Since then, it has been sold many times and from 2006 is owned by Bruno Paillard champagne house. In 2008 the Lanson bottles were given a makeover. The packaging style since then has reflected the Lanson House Style of the 1980s.  In 2013, Hervé Dantan was welcomed in the House and took over responsibilities as main winemakers since 2016. Since then, the brand has reached new heights and gained even more market share.

The brand has been a recipient of many awards, including the Organic champagne Travel Retail Award for Best Wine Product in 2020. In addition, it has been internationally acclaimed, with many awards coming from Japan and New Zealand.

Why is Lanson Champagne So Popular?

What makes a champagne brand stand out? Lanson is the perfect example to answer this question. Lanson bottles can range from below hundred dollars to over a thousand dollars for a premium magnum bottle. In addition, the variety of collections with distinctive making and taste is another major selling point.

The perfect blend and aging of pinot and chardonnay grapes are done best by Lanson. Its freshness, complexity, and beautiful packaging make this a steal at affordable prices. All the ranges, be it Cuvee, vintage or Black Label, taste and look quite different. At this price range, Lanson doesn’t face much competition and dominates the global markets.

How best to drink Lanson champagne?

Champagnes are stand-alone drinks popped on special occasions. There is a definitive way to open, pour, and drink champagne that many may not know. Popping the bottle is half the task done. However, if you are not careful, this can lead to accidents. Unwrap the foil packaging, untwist the metal chord around the neck and try to open it. Take a narrow neck champagne glass, tilt it at an angle to pour the liquid without fizz.

Champagne is best accompanied with cheese and crackers or berry-type fruits. To enjoy fully, take in the layered aromas with a quick swirl of the glass. Then, take a small sip and taste in your mouth to get the full flavor of the fine-aged Lanson champagnes.
