Paul Bara Champagne is a seventh-generation family business run by Chantale Bara. It is one of the leading Grower champagne producers in France’s Bouzy region. They have 11 hectares of vineyards with an abundance of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes. The company uses only first pressed wines for superior taste and quality.

The history behind Paul Bara Champagne

Auguste Francois Bara started his career as a cooper in 1833 in Bouzy village in Epernay. The Bara family’s records date back to the 1600s. He married Annonciade Robert, who was a wine owner, in 1836. They built the Bara Property in 1860, which was once a stable, but later converted that into a winery in 1965.

Paul Bara was the first person to sell champagne under the brand name Chantale in the 1950s. His champagne house was the first to export drinks to the United States in 1975. The company has expanded its business through transatlantic trades and exporting its champagnes to many parts of the world.

Chantale started co-running the business in 1986. She is the partner, and now as the 6th generation of Paul bara, she has even been the president of club Tresors de Champagne since 2013. They make vines from 100% grand cru in 11 hectares of family-owned vineyards.
