About Fortaleza

This tequila is relatively new in the market but has already made a name for itself. The tequila is well known for the rich and complex flavor that gives it a lot of character. This also means that it can either be drunk straight or put into a number of cocktails to enhance the flavors. It has over 140 years behind the brand going all the way back to the 19th century, so the process and distillation are top notches, and the tequila comes out flavorful and with a complex palate as well. They do not put in any additives, and the tequila is 100% pure agave tequila.

The history behind Fortaleza Tequila

Even though the brand itself is from 2005, its history goes much further. The founder’s great-great-grandfather established his distillery in 1873 and perfected the tequila process to make it commercially, and sold it in the US and Mexico. His son took over in 1909 and popularized the drink, and left the company to his son in 1946. He bought land in Mexico and founded a distillery named La Fortaleza, which he sold in 1976, which his grandson revived, and Fortaleza was born in 2005.

What makes Fortaleza unique?

The distilling process for Fortaleza remains the same as it was 150 years ago. The result of this is that the tequila comes out extremely pure and smooth. The unique part of this tequila comes from this distilling process. The agave chosen is of the freshest variety and is crushed with stone blocks to bring out the authentic flavor and aroma. Aged in American oak barrels, tequila has been a mainstay since its inception.

Why is Fortaleza so popular?

Fortaleza is among the best tequilas in the market today. The distilling process has remained consistent for the last century, creating a rich smooth tequila with a complex flavor profile. The smoothness of the tequila and the complex flavors it embodies make it a perfect drink to imbibe as is or put in any cocktail to enhance the taste.
