About Woodford Reserve Bourbon
Woodford Reserve distillery is a national historical landmark where the first Bourbon was made in 1812. Woodford reserve became an icon in the bourbon industry by preserving its history of Bourbon, the history of Kentucky, and the history of the United States.
The History behind Woodford Reserve Bourbon
Woodford Reserve became popular for the straight Kentucky Bourbon whisky, which is distilled using corn, rye, and Barley at one of the oldest distilleries in Kentucky. They primarily distilled the Bourbon using pots stills in a five-step process involving grain, water, fermentation, distillation, and maturation.
Chris Morris and Elizabeth McCall, who are the driving force behind the making of the Bourbon, monitor the entire process. It is matured for about seven years in new charred American oak barrels and then bottled to create the series of Woodford Reserve Bourbon.
The old Woodford Reserve brand was first launched in 1996, and it has been a pioneer in the bourbon industry for over two decades. Woodford County had the first distillery, called Pepper distillery, which Elijah Pepper operated. It was later purchased by Brown-Forman in 1940. They played a key role in the modernization of the Woodford reserve development. Chris Morris, who is the master distiller, takes care of continuing the signature taste of the brand’s flagship bourbon.
