Hirsch Horizon Bourbon

They make horizon bourbon using two blends of mash bills from Lawrenceburg. The first mash comprises 75% corn, 25% rye, and 4% malted barley, which makes up 94% of the blend. The second mash comprises 60% corn, 36% rye, and 4% malted barley, which makes up to 6% age of the blend. In addition, this blend is aged six months and two months, whereas the first one is aged up to 5 years and four months. About Hirsch Bourbon

A.H. Hirsch started Hirsch Bourbon in 1986. They relaunched it after Hotaling and Co acquired it.

The History behind Hirsch Bourbon

The Hirsch Bourbon brand is named after Adolph Hirsch. He was a big entrepreneur who commissioned a 400-barrel batch of Bourbon in a distillery near Pennsylvania. The 400-barrel batch was distilled in 1974, which used a mash bill of corn, rye, and malt barley. However, because of circumstances, this batch of Bourbon was kept on aging without being released to the market.

In 1989, this barrel was gained by Gordon Hue, one of the well-known persons who dealt with premium American whiskies. He bottled the brand under the name A.H. Hirsch Reserve. The Bourbon was released when it was 15 to 20 years old, and later the Bourbon became part of Hotaling and Co, which renamed the brand to “Hirsch.”

The prime mission of Hirsch is to craft quality spirits and cater to adventure lovers and explorers who love indulging in good quality bourbon to celebrate their life moments.

Why is Hirsch Bourbon So Popular?

Hirsch bourbon is one of the most popular bourbon brands in the United States. The unique blend of spirit and aging for a minimum of 6 years gives this Bourbon a distinct flavor profile. Many bourbon lovers like it for its sweet taste and in-depth oak essence.
