About Coopers’ Craft Bourbon
Coopers’ Craft is the only distillery to own a new barrel cooperage and craft their own barrels to complete the bourbon-making process. The distillery is in Louisville, Kentucky, USA. They created the brand in 1945 to honor Brown-Forman barrel makers.
The History behind Coopers’ Craft Bourbon
Coopers’ craft is a relatively new whisky label for the Brown-Forman spirit company. They added it to the line of Brown-Forman in 2016. This is the first bourbon in 20 years to be sold by this established spirit company. The Brown-Forman Bluegrass Cooperage was established in 1945, where they made 1500 barrels a day until it was closed to the public in 2009. They later renamed the cooperage to Brown-Forman Cooperage and continued to produce the barrels. Coopers are workers who make barrels for aging bourbon.
Coopers’ Craft uses a unique method of creating their barrels and char them to give a unique flavor to the drink. They use a charcoal filtration process using Beech and Birchwood for charcoal to impart extra flavor and smoothness to the bourbon.
Why is Coopers’ Craft Bourbon So Popular?
Coopers’ Craft is owned by one of the oldest distilling spirits companies, Brown-Forman. They take pride in making high-quality bourbon by crafting the barrels from oak barks at their facility. This practice of aging bourbon in new American oak barrels gives this drink an excellent taste and smoothness. It is inexpensive.
