About Blanton’s Bourbon
Blanton’s Bourbon is produced in a Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky. The Sazerac Company markets the brand. Elmer.T. Lee operated the buffalo trace distillery until 2013.
The History behind Blanton’s Bourbon
The Blanton’s brand was launched in 1984 by Elmer.T. Lee, who was the first modern-born head of a distillery. He was the man behind marketing the single barrel Bourbon straight from the warehouse to the markets in the 19th century. The brand got the name ‘Blanton’s ‘after Colonel Albert B. Blanton, who was the former owner of Bourbon distillery in the 18th century.
Elmer got inspired to make good quality bourbon, mixing no whisky from other barrels. He bottled high-quality Bourbon aged over 6 to 8 years in the warehouse H at Buffalo Trace distillery. Albert B Blanton built Warehouse H with metal walls, giving rapid aging and consistency to all the different makes of Blanton’s Bourbon.
Lee wanted to preserve the handcrafted Bourbon by distilling the spirit using locally-sourced corn, rye, and barley. The barrels are made of charred oak and stored in the warehouse in Kentucky, which is known as the bourbon capital of the world.
Why is Blanton’s Bourbon So Popular?
Blanton’s Bourbon is an iconic brand that is popular all over the world. The primary reason for the popularity of this Bourbon is the consistency. Every bottle has the same taste, flavor profile, and characteristics irrespective of the time of purchase. The packaging makes it eye-catchy and attractive to the audience. The bottle has a hand grenade shape with multiple facets and a short neck. It has an iconic metal cork stopper which has a horseback rider racing towards the finish line.
